State Capture Commission to hear of R1 bln Housing Free State Project on Monday

On Wednesday, the commission's evidence leader argued that the reinstatement of Siyabonga Gama went against the company policy.

The Commission of Inquiry into State Capture is expected to resume on Monday. The Commission, chaired by Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, will hear evidence regarding the R1 billion Housing Free State Project.

Bloemfontein residents benefit from the multi-billion housing project: 

Evidence will be provided by the HOD of the Human Settlements of the Free State provincial government, Nthimotse Mokhesi and former HOD Gift Mokoena.

COVID-19 measures

The commission says it will continue to adhere to measures to limit the spread of COVID-19; which include social distancing and limited seating for the media.

The following procedures are required to be followed:

  • Mandatory screening upon entry at the venue.
  • Accreditation card required for entry to the venue.
  • Masks must be worn at all times.
