International hotel magnate Sol Kerzner has died of cancer at the age of 84.
Famous for creating Sun City, in Rustenburg during the then Bophutatswana government in 1979, Kerzner died surrounded by his family at his home Cape Town earlier tonight.
Sun International, the company he founded, has saluted Kerzner and described him as a visionary and a pioneer.
Earlier rumors surfaced of his death as on social media people merged with messages of condolences. Kerzner’s son Brandon had earlier rubbished the news by taking to social media that his father had not passed away but was “gravily ill”.
