South Africa’s well known Setswana contemporary musician Kori Moraba has died of COVID-19 related complications. He was 73-years-old.

Moraba died at the Netcare Bougainville Hospital in Hercules in Pretoria west last night. He had been hospitalized for the past two weeks after contracting the coronavirus. Funeral arrangements are yet to be finalised.

His daughter Joylene Moraba says the family is devastated.

“Good day, this is the message to confirm that my father Kori Moraba well known for his hitmaker Tswang-tswang-tswang in 1971 has passed away at Netcare Bougainville last night at 23h00. He succumbed due to COVID.”

Moraba’s fame came under the spotlight after releasing one of the hit songs Tswang-tswang-tswang in 1971.

A song that many South Africans can’t end their wedding celebrations without playing.
