SABC misses deadline to submit corporate plan for the second time

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Communications Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane has told Parliament that the SABC has twice missed the deadline to submit its corporate plan.

The Minister says what concerns her is that other entities are already on their final drafts while the public broadcaster still has not submitted even its first draft. She says she is unable to sign off on the company’s Memorandum of Incorporation until the board finalises the plan.

“We had asked the SABC to submit a corporate plan by last year they had not complied. I met with them again in January we gave the second deadline they missed the deadline. We are arranging with them to meet again. It is going to be difficult if there is anything that needs to be added you might not have enough time because we are running to chase the date of the end of the month.”
