The SABC’s Group Executive for Human Resources, Jonathan Thekiso, has detailed events of former employees being paid the remainder of their contracts in order for them to leave the public broadcaster. He is testifying at the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture in Parktown, Johannesburg.

Former GCEO, Lulama Mokhobo, and two members of the SABC 8 are scheduled to testify later on Wednesday. Responding to Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo and evidence leader at the commission, Advocate Thandi Norman, Thekiso says no reason was given for the termination of a former employee’s contract, but the remaining salary amount was paid.
