SA’s cumulative COVID-19 cases now at 1 521 706

The South African Health Department says as of today the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases is 1 521 706.

The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 9 269 122 with 13 630 new tests recorded since the
last report.

Regrettably, 125 more COVID-19 deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 0, Free State 31, Gauteng eight, Kwa-Zulu Natal seven, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga five, North West 46, Northern Cape 18 and Western
Cape 10 which brings the total to 50 803 deaths.

Update on COVID-19 situation in South Africa with Dr Ridhwaan Suliman:

The government conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who
treated the deceased patients.

And the recoveries now stand at 1 442 045, representing a recovery rate of 94.7%.
