ANC Head of Elections in the Western Cape Ebrahim Rasool says the DA should first break its coalitions with the EFF in the three metros, before it can preach to it about the dangers of an ANC-EFF coalition in the Western Cape.
This comes as analysts say coalition politics is very likely after the May eighth general elections.
Rasool was speaking at a media briefing where ANC Deputy Secretary General Jessie Duarte was giving an update on some of the outcomes of her election campaign trail in the province this weekend.
He says, “I will not take advice from Allan Winde or Mmusi Maimane about keeping the ANC and the EFF our of the Western Cape when you (DA) are keeping them in the governments of Tshwane, Johannesburg and Nelson Mandela Bay. So the challenge that I am putting out is,- first break your coalitions in those three cities before you preach to us or before you lie to the people of the Western Cape. That is a challenge that I think must be amplified across the whole nation so that this hypocrisy of the DA can be exposed.”
