One of the gunmen who invaded Durban school shot during incident

It emerged that one of the two men who stormed the Embizweni High School in Umlazi south of Durban in their car was shot and killed in the incident.

The school was closed for the day after the men stormed the school with one firing shots into the air.

The other man was armed with a knife. They were demanding to see one of the learners with whom they are believed to have a feud.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says the two men were shot at by an unknown person.

“This morning at 6h30 two people had a fight and one of the two people left suddenly a vehicle with two males arrived at a school and the said males were spinning the car and allegedly fired shots in the air. The driver of the vehicle age 40 sustained gunshot wounds and his vehicle crashed to a guard rail on the road, the driver was declared dead at the scene while the passenger fled the scene.”
