The North West Department of Health says flooding at the Tshepong Hospital severely affected the smooth running of the hospital, daily activities, particularly the casualty area.

Departmental Spokesperson, Tebogo Lekgwethwane says they have engaged with the local Matlosana Municipality to come up with a long-term solution to the flooding problem.

“This is caused by the drain in front of the main entrance of Tshepong. We can confirm that we have the discussion with the municipality and they promised to implement the project that will resolve the problem, however, the problem still persists. There is a permanent solution that we are currently engaged with the municipality that is to extend the stormwater drainage at Joubert as well as just outside the main gate at Tshepong Hospital,” says Lekgwethwane.
