The National Education, Health, and Allied Workers’ Union’s (Nehawu) Parliament branch says the fact that Parliamentary secretary Gengezi Mgidlana could be placed on precautionary suspension serves him right.

The beleaguered Mgidlana has been given seven days to explain why he should not be suspended.

The union has welcomed Mgidlana’s pending suspension.

Allegations against him include irregularly awarding him a bursary.

Nehawu’s branch chairperson Disang Mocumi says the union feels vindicated by the outcomes of the investigation and that they have not received the report of the committee.

“As Nehawu we believe that he is already on a special leave. We believe that he must actually taste his own medicine,” says Mocumi.
