The sequence of the accused in the Thabo Bester prison escape case in the Free State High Court in Bloemfontein has been re-arranged.
Bester’s lover Dr. Nandipha Magudumana is now accused number one in the matter. This follows the withdrawal of charges against the other three accused during the last appearance.
The two were arrested in Tanzania in April last year.
G4S Correctional Centre employees are also accused of aiding Bester to escape.
The case has been postponed to June 5. This follows the request by the state, after changes of legal representatives for some of the accused including Bester.
The court also heard that Bester did not have breakfast this morning and could not take his chronic medication for diabetes.
His lawyer told the court that the food that was provided for him had high sugar levels.
Nandipha Magudumana, Thabo Bester and Zanda Moyo have joined other accused. The state is talking about postponing the matter to the 5th of June for pre-trial hearing. #sabcnews #sabcFS pic.twitter.com/vtcHdOjRD6

Earlier, Katlego Bereng’s family said it was preparing to sue the state.
The body of 33-year-old Bereng ended up at the G4S Correctional Centre when he was not a convicted criminal.
The family says they want answers about what happened to Bereng and how his body ended up in Bester’s cell.
