The High Court in Johannesburg is on Friday expected to hear an urgent application of convicted murderer and rapist Thabo Bester and Dr. Nandipha Magudumana.

The two are seeking to interdict entertainment giant MultiChoice’s online subscription video on demand services, Showmax, from broadcasting the documentary series “Tracking Thabo Bester”.

The four-part series is expected to premiere today.

Bester and Magudumana say their rights will be violated should the documentary be broadcast. Multichoice is opposing the application.

On Saturday, Bester and Magudumana’s lawyers wrote to the online subscription video service to demand that they be furnished with copies of its documentary series.

The lawyers argue that they were never interviewed by anyone from Showmax and they would like to be given the details of the documentary.
