Mabuza to answer oral questions in Parliament on Thursday

Deputy President David Mabuza will be in the National Assembly on Thursday to answer oral questions.

Among the questions, the Deputy President will delve into how the delivery of social and other services by government departments, their public entities and provincial and local governments will be affected by the cutting of their budgets to fund the South African Airways (SAA) business rescue plan.

He will also be asked if he has been informed that some of the land that is being advertised for state disposal to emerging farmers is already occupied and used by communities and some emerging farmers.

There is also a question regarding the decision of the Free State government to end its intervention in the Maluti-a-Phofung Municipality.

Parliament will also pay tribute to Auditor-General Kimi Makwetu who died earlier this month.

Part of the proceedings in the House will also hold be a debate on the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children.

A total of 56 committee meetings are also scheduled for both the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces (NCOP).

Some of the more notable committee meetings will be the Standing Committee on Finance being briefed by National Treasury and the South African Revenue Service (SARS) on tax administration, with focus on two Commissions and one Committee report into governance at SARS.

The same committee will be briefed by the National Treasury and Public Investment Corporation (PIC) on the Mpati Commission of Inquiry report.
