Le Clos wins gold at Commonwealth Games

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Chad le Clos has won his first gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. He won the 50m butterfly in a time of 23.37. Ryan Coetzee won the bronze in the same race.

The team won their first gold medal, when Henri Schoeman won the triathlon title in Gold Coast Australia this morning, on the first day of the Games. Schoeman adds that title to the bronze medal he won at the Olympic Games in 2016.

South Africa’s swimmers had mixed results in the pool. Le Clos is the fastest qualifier, following the disqualification of favourite Ben Proud of England.
