Constitutional Court (ConCourt)Judge Nominee Mahube Molemela says she is more than ready to hit the ground running if appointed to the ConCourt.

She told the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) that she is driven by energy and motivation.

Molemela, who is currently a Judge in the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA), was questioned by Commissioner Narend Singh about her readiness to serve at the Apex Court for a full term.

Molemela told Singh that one of her traits is that she does her own research in addition to heads of arguments received when a matter is brought before the court.

She was the third candidate interviewed to fill two vacancies at the ConCourt.

“In terms of motivation, just to conclude by saying that this is now my 35th year in the legal profession and throughout this 35 years, I have been very energetic, very enthusiastic and very motivated. I find the law fascinating and I think that’s how is going to be until I retire,” she explains.

Chief Justice, Raymond Zondo, is presiding over the session in Sandton, Johannesburg.
