Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) leader Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi has not rule out the possibility of his party going into a coalition with other parties should no party get an outright majority.

Buthelezi was speaking after casting his vote at the polling station in KwaPhindangene traditional council Mahlabathini outside Ulundi in northern KwaZulu-Natal.

“It depends which party I think, but in principle I’m quite open to that. Because if you look at older democracies in Europe for instance, many governments are coalitions. In the matured democracies coalitions are the latest game in town, always. It is a question of principle. For instance there are ideologies that I don’t agree with, I don’t agree with socialism,” says Buhelezi.
