Leader of the African People’s Convention, Themba Godi, says it is important that Africans embrace their heritage and history, to ensure that they are empowered.

He addressed supporters in Paarl in the Boland as part of Africa Month commemoration.

The party will have a host of events to celebrate the month. Godi says for people to be free, they need to embrace where they come from.

“Our theme is the projections of the African personality, freedom and service delivery, you may have services but if they come to people who are not mentally free, it serves no purpose. Our purpose is that our people must know who they are, they must know their history, be proud of their heritage and they must project that personality without fear or equivocation.”
