At least 24 people are known to have died from coronavirus, with 2 003 cases recorded in South Africa.

Masuku outlines the measures that have been put in place to assist people infected with the coronavirus.

“I think we do have concerns in terms of a number of informal settlements that are areas of high possibilities, which are the areas that keep us awake. Because we have to try and make sure those areas don’t get hard hit during the peak of the infections. The Tshwane District Hospital has been decanted and put aside as a COVID-19 hospital. We are also in the process of going and activating the Bara Hospital and if we are in a worse case scenario we are preparing a facility to house temporary isolation and quarantine beds in the Nasrec area.”
