The Energy Department has announced that the price of petrol will go up by a massive 82 cents a litre from midnight next Tuesday.
The price of diesel will increase by between 85 and 87 cents a litre.
Illuminating paraffin will go up by R1.09 a litre. And LP-GAS – which people use in gas heaters – is going up by R1.38 per litre.
Higher oil prices and a weaker rand are to blame for the hefty fuel price increases.
