Friend pays tribute to justice Bosielo

Reading Time: < 1 minute

A close friend of justice Ronnie Bosielo says his friend died an unhappy man in his career.

Steve Phiri has spoken about how his ambitions to get into the Constitutional Court were compromised by what he described as spurious allegations against him compromising his changes of his appointment to the highest court in the land.

Phiri has been paying tribute to his long-time friend at the funeral service currently underway at the Calvary Methodist Church in Midrand, north of Johannesburg.

Phiri says when he was cleared, he was in hospital and couldn’t celebrate the news.

“Spurious allegations were made against him, impugning his professional conduct, dignity and credibility. He withdrew his candidature to the Constitutional Court position. That did not go without serious hurt to him. Ronnie was never the same since that time, never ever. When the news came that he had been cleared, he never came out to celebrate the news. He died an unhappy man as far as is career was concerned.”
