The South African Constitution is often lauded as a shining light for democratic frameworks across the world, often praised as the best in the world. But what Human Rights does it afford its citizens, and do they know about these rights and what they mean. Chapter 2 of the Constitution focuses on these rights.

According to the South African Human Rights Commission, there are 15 basic human rights enshrined in our constitution.
