De Lille set to launch GOOD Party’s election manifesto tomorrow

GOOD Party leader Patricia de Lille will try and win prospective voters when she presents her party’s election manifesto in Rivonia, Johannesburg tomorrow.

The party managed to secure two seats in the National Assembly in 2019 and received the majority of its support from the Western Cape. It hopes to broaden its political footprint during the upcoming elections.

The GOOD Party was formed in 2018 following De Lille’s departure from the DA.

De Lille says, “I have been deeply encouraged by the response and the support that this message of GOOD has prompted in our country. As I said, I want good South Africans, men and women, young and experienced of races to step forward to lead our country.”

On the land issue, the party believes it should be handled and managed appropriately. However, De Lille has stated that land expropriation should be the last resort.

“We stand at the position that public land is for the public good, public land is not a commodity to be privatized and traded within the government. Its first purpose must be to serve the public good.”

The party has made transparent leadership and accountability among its key principles and says it hopes to combat corruption if elected into power.

“The money is not being spent well. Corruption steals from poor people. That money we can use for the basic income grant,” says De Lille.
