ConCourt dismisses Zuma’s private prosecution bid

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former President Jacob Zuma has been dealt another blow in his private prosecution bid against Senior State Advocate Billy Downer and journalist Karyn Maughan.

This comes after the Constitutional Court unanimously dismissed Zuma’s appeal against the enforcement order that halted any action relating to his private prosecution of the two.

This order meant that the former President could not pursue his private prosecution bid against the pair pending his appeal process against the initial order which invalidated his private prosecution.

Zuma is attempting to privately prosecute the pair over the alleged leak of his health records during his corruption case sitting in the KwaZulu-Natal High Court division.
