Cape Town metro officers involved in string of crimes

The City of Cape Town says it is disappointed and angered following the news that two of its Metro Police officers were allegedly involved in a business robbery.

Mayoral committee member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, says the duo was apparently part of a group of officers from various external agencies involved in the crime.

He says their investigation unit has traced and arrested one of the officers whom they have handed over to the police who are investigating the matter.

Smith says the member has already been served with a pre-suspension letter.
