The African National Congress (ANC) says it is reflecting on the recent arrests of high-profile party members. A countrywide Hawks swoop saw the arrest of some senior ANC members in the Free State, Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.

Some of the arrests were as a result of the evidence given at the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture in Johannesburg. The ANC says it wants the legal process to continue unhindered.

Hawks issue warrant of arrest for former KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Mmamonya Ngobeni:

ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe spoke to the SABC on the sidelines of the party’s National Executive Committee virtual lekgotla which started on Friday and will continue on Monday.

“We have noted a number of developments in the country, including arrests that have taken place occasioned by the work of the State Capture Commission. The ANC is watching all these developments with keen interest and will be able to comment broadly when some of these processes have been concluded.”
