Reading Time: 2 minutes

Traditional Prime Minister to the Zulu Monarch, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi says AmaZulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini is expected to meet with all major houses of the Zulu Royal Family in Ulundi, in northern KwaZulu-Natal(KZN), next week.

In a statement, Buthelezi says in order to comply with COVID-19 protocols, formal letters of invitation have been sent to individuals in every house.

Buthelezi says the meeting is an opportunity for all houses of the Zulu Royal Family to come together in restoring unity in the Royal family.

The meeting comes at a time when a faction of the  Zulu Royal family has been holding meetings to decide who should ascend the throne.

This is despite the announcement by the late Regent Queen Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu that her son Misuzulu ka Zwelithini be the next King.

Buthelezi also assures those who were not invited, that their interests will be fully represented.

In June, Buthelezi announced that battle lines had been drawn in the family about who should succeed the late King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu.

Advocate TG Madonsela read out the Queen’s will at the royal home at Nongoma in Northern Kwazulu Natal on Friday night.

There was been a commotion at the scene in Nongoma after the reading of the Queen’s will. Police escorted Prince Misizulu Zulu from the scene.
