President Cyril Ramaphosa is in Dubai where he will be attending the Expo 2020.

The Presidency says it’s the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.
South Africa is participating in the Expo that is focusing on sustainability, mobility and opportunity.

The South African pavilion showcases the country’s technological innovations, tourism, sport and culture among other things. The president has been on a drive to increase investment in South Africa.
Many economists say structural reform, investment and strong economic growth are necessary to solve South Africa’s massive poverty and unemployment problems.
Last week President Ramaphosa emphasised the importance of producing and buying locally to boost the country’s economy at a time when it has been brought to its knees by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ramaphosa delivered a virtual address at the 10th annual Buy Local Summit and Exco last week Tuesday in Sandton, Johannesburg.
The summit aimed to inform, educate and equip entrepreneurs in creating jobs and rebuilding the economy by producing locally.
The President said this will assist revive South Africa’s ailing economy.
