A memorial service for media personality Kuli Roberts will be held virtually on Wednesday morning.

The 49-year-old who worked across media platforms such as television, radio, magazines, and newspapers passed away last week Wednesday.

She was known for her witty and smart comments.

Last year, she made headlines when it was announced that she was joining political party, ATM, as a candidate for the Local Government Elections last year.

Tributes

Her friend, Penny Lebyane, says they were together not so long ago where they spoke about Roberts’ unreleased podcast.

Lebyane says, “I have so much to say and I’m really saddened. I know how excited you were about the new project. I was looking forward to it. We spoke about it last year and I said they must just call, I’m ready. I’m so sorry for your family, especially your children, sister, cousin and the rest of the family.”

The South African National Editors Forum (Sanef) joined a chorus of condolences, paying tribute to Roberts.

Sanef Executive Director, Reggie Moalusi says, “The South African National Editors Forum is saddened to hear about the untimely passing of Kuli Roberts. She was a force of a comrade especially when it came to entertainment journalism. We would like to send our condolences to the Mboyi and Roberts families. The entertainment fraternity is poor without Kuli. We will miss her with her character. May her soul Rest in Peace.”
