The Western Cape Local Government Department says dam levels have continued to improve following decent rainfalls this winter.
Dam levels are averaging 77% capacity, while dams supplying the city of Cape Town are nearly full at 97% capacity.
Minister in the Department Anton Bredell says of concern however is the Calitzdorp Dam which is at 41% and the Gamka Dam outside Beaufort West at about 35% full.
Bredell says consumers’ continuation to use water responsibly is encouraging.
