University of Pretoria doesn’t only have a youthful team but promising junior internationals, something which head coach Zipho Dlangalala says it’s their obligation as coaches in the PSL to help national team coaches.
AmaTuks lost their first game in the Glad Africa Championship on Sunday, when they lost 1-0 at home to Uthongathi FC.
Dlangalala who comes from a strong Varsity sport background, emphasizes the importance of the talent factory.
Marshalling the midfield on Sunday was South African U23 international Athenkosi Dlala with the skillful Kameholo “Nyaope” Mahlatsi troubling on the wings and super-sub Kgodiso Monama playing behind veteran Zambian international striker Collins Mbesuma.
These players are regulars in David Notoane’s U23 national team selection and this is the space where Dlangalala feels they should be strong in.
AmaTuks have won two matches, drawn two and lost one of their first five matches.
Dlangalala has a history of having worked with some of the top talent in the country previously, together with Dan “Dance” Malesela at the Mamelodi Sundowns youth structures.
The group of Xola Mlambo, Keagan Dolly, Buhle Mkhwanazi, Jabulani Shongwe and many more players comes into mind.
