Residents of Vischkuil in Springs, east of Johannesburg are advised to brace themselves for a power outage that is going to last for 16hours on Sunday.
Eskom says the power supply interruption is due to maintenance work that it will be conducting on the power distribution network.
Eskom’s Amanda Qithi says the power outage will start from 6:30am till 11 o’clock at night.
“The interruption in the electricity supply is necessary to perform essential maintenance on our distribution power lines. In the interest of safety, customers are advised to treat all electrical appliances as live at all times during the power supply outage,” explains Qithi.
Meanwhile, load shedding has been reduced to stage 2 from 05:00 on Sunday until 16:00
Thereafter, stage 3 load shedding will be implemented from 16:00 until 05:00 on Monday.
Eskom says it will provide an update of the outlook for the week ahead on Sunday, or as soon as any significant changes occur.
