6.2 million South Africans have filed their taxes: SARS

With the tax filing season underway, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) says so far, about 6.2 million South Africans have filed their taxes.

This year’s filing season runs from July 1 to November 23.

The revenue service says 74% of the 3.4 million people that were auto-assessed have accepted their assessments.

Another 3.2 million have sent their returns via the e-filing and the mobi-app.

Last month, some tax consultants said they have seen more individual and business taxpayers seek help with their tax filing.
