Four members of one family have been killed in a collision between two vehicles on the N2 between Butterworth and East London in the Eastern Cape. Police are investigating the cause of the fatal collision which happened this morning.
The deceased were burnt beyond recognition and five others were seriously injured after both vehicles caught fire.

Provincial Transport spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, says the injured were taken to the Frere Hospital.
“The MEC for Transport in the Eastern Cape Weziwe Tikana-Gxothiwe has described this tragic incident as a terrible way to end of what has been one of the toughest years the world over and has called on motorists to be extra cautious as we are left with only a couple of hours before the end of 2020 to ensure that we avoid accidents of this nature going forward.”
