The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has welcomed the decision of the National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) not to withdraw the crimen injuria charge against businessman Adam Catzavelos.
Businessman Adam Catzavelos has lost his second bid to have the charge of Crimen injuria brought against him dropped. The Randburg Magistrate’s Court heard that the National Director of Public Prosecutions has decided to proceed with the case.
The Equality Court sitting in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court, north of Johannesburg, is on Tuesday expected to rule on whether the national director of public prosecutions will go ahead with the case of crimen injuria against Adam Catzavelos.

The magistrate in the hate speech case of Adam Catzavelos has recused himself. The Human Rights Commission wants the Equality Court sitting in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court in Johannesburg to declare Catzavelos’ use of the K-word, discriminatory and hate speech.
