Another acclaimed South African novelist, the late Dalene Matthee’s arsenal of successful forest novels, “Toorbos” (dream forest) will be turned into a feature film.

This romantic drama, based on the 2003 bestseller, is set in the 1930s at Knysna in the Southern Cape when the government wanted to force woodcutters to move to town.

It tells the story of a woman who has to choose between getting married or staying in the forest with which she has an intimate bond.

Her decision leads to an unforgettable adventure of inner conflict, change, acceptance and, most of all, love.
