Former North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo is expected to resign from the North West Provincial legislature.

This after the ANC announced Job Mokgoro as its premier candidate for the province.

The Province has been engulfed in violent protests after calls were made for Mahumapelo to step down as Premier.

The governing party is also putting out fires in some of the other provinces. This as contestation for power results in some ANC members taking the party to court.

Senior citizens making their voices heard, Luthuli House is familiar with these kinds of protests.

The recent protests in North West led to the premier resigning and now, a new man is taking over the reins.

As the party prepares for the upcoming elections in 2019, the provincial conferences are contested terrains.

This is derailing the much talked about unity ahead of the polls. Job Mokgoro is expected to be sworn in as a member of the North West Legislature on Friday.

And only then can his name be presented for election to the Premiership.
