Four suspects accused of the murder of former ANC Youth League secretary-general Sindiso Magaqa will on Monday apply for bail in the uMzimkhulu Magistrate’s Court in southern KwaZulu-Natal.
The accused include Mluleki Ndobe, a member of KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Executive Committee, who is also mayor of the Harry Gwala District Municipality and uMzimkhulu municipal manager, Zweliphani Skhosana.
The four have been behind bars for the past two weeks.
Magaqa and two others were shot and wounded after being ambushed in uMzimkhulu in July 2017.
Magaqa died in hospital two months later.
Another ANC mayor was arrested during the weekend for a different case.
He will appear in the Newcastle Magistrate’s Court in northern KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday.
