Reading Time: < 1 minute

Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus has confirmed that captain Siya Kolisi will be ready in time to lead the Springboks at the upcoming Rugby World Cup in Japan.

The flank forward has been fast-tracked back into the Boks squad following an injury layoff which he is showing strong signs of recovery.

Erasmus says he was pleased with Kolisi’s contribution during their 24-18 victory over Argentina at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday night.

Having rested 17 players from the squad that did not take part in last Saturday’s encounter against Argentina, Erasmus reaffirms that his next stop with his 37-men squad is Bloemfontein for the whole of this week.

Following his brace of tries against the Pumas on Saturday night, Erasmus also confirmed that winger Sbu Nkosi is also one of the players that will definitely be part of his 31-men Rugby World Cup squad.

With only Japan to play in their last warmup game before their first world cup group game against New Zealand, Erasmus says he is pleased with his tried and tested combinations.

He adds that he is also pleased with the depth he has to select from. – Report by Thando Gqamane
