A trial against ten suspects following a botched cash-in-transit heist has been postponed to March next year at the High Court in Mahikeng in North West.
Solomon Ngobeni and his nine co-accused are facing several serious charges ranging from murder, attempted murder, possession of dangerous firearms and ammunition.
Security measures were tight in and around the North West High Court in Mahikeng, where the ten made a brief appearance. They were arrest following a failed cash-in-transit heist on the R503 between Lichtenburg and Mafikeng in March 2020.
The men were travelling in two vehicles when they opened fire on the armoured vehicle transporting cash, bringing it to a halt. They allegedly forced the security officers out of the vehicle and used explosives to gain access to the cash in the vault.
