Upon arriving at the scene, paramedics from Advanced Life Support found a chaotic situation. The taxi, filled with pre-primary school children, had collided with another vehicle.

The paramedics quickly went to work stabilising the injured children, who suffered injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

Following initial treatment at the scene, the injured preschoolers were transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care. At this stage, the exact cause of the accident remains unknown. However, the South African Police Service (SAPS) and Metro police have launched an investigation into the incident to determine its cause and any potential contributing factors.
