Spain’s soccer team trained at their base in Krasnodar on Monday (June 11) ahead of the team’s first match of the 2018 World Cup.

The players will travel a relatively short 288km for Friday’s (June 15) match against Iberian neighbours Portugal, which takes place just south of Krasnodar in the Black Sea city of Sochi.

The 2010 champions have not lost a game in almost two years – the last being a 2-0 defeat by Italy in the first knock-out round of the 2016 European Championship.

Substitute Iago Aspas scored a late winner in Spain’s final World Cup warm-up match on Saturday (June 9) to secure a slender 1-0 win over Tunisia.
