SAFA pays homage to members of the football fraternity who lost their lives in 2020

As this year wraps up  – the South African Football Association (SAFA) has paid homage to members of the football fraternity who lost their lives in 2020.

Among them are Free State Stars Chairman Mike Mokoena, who is the founding member of the NSL, Xolani Bishoti, Mandla ‘Mgijimi’ Sindane, an Orlando Pirates and South African Football fan, former Interim President and founder member of Buffalo City Region, Former Buffalo City FC and Aces United FC (also chairman) defender, S’busiso Mseleku, a veteran Sports Journalist, Dr Vuyo Mahlati, the Executive Chairperson at Siyaya TV and soccer stars – Anele Ngcongca and Motjeka Madisha, among others.

Jordaan sends condolences to the Madisha family:

“This has been a very sad year as we lost several members of the game and those that were closely related to the game. May their souls rest in peace,’’ says SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan.

Jordaan is urging South Africans to remain vigilant in whatever they do amid the resurgence of COVID-19 infections.

“Be disciplined in whatever you do, don’t drink and drive, never over-indulge and wash your hands regularly, sanitise, keep social distance and always wear your mask in public,’’ he has added.
