Resident are urged to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Mangaung Metro has urged residents to avoid direct exposure to the sun and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

The South African Weather services advised that a heatwave is expected over the central and western half of the Free State from Wednesday until Friday.

Mangaung Metro will be affected by the heatwave over the period, with temperatures expected to rise to 37 degrees.

Residents are advised to rest under the shade and dress lightly with brighter colours.
