Primedia Broadcasting has severed ties with on-air personalities DJs Fresh and Euphonik.

In a statement on Wednesday, the media company says the decision was made after careful consideration of events over the last few weeks, and was made in the best interest of the company and its stakeholders.

This after a woman took to Twitter in January, accusing the two DJs, whose real names are Thato Sikwane and Themba Nkosi, respectively, of drugging and then raping her.

A formal case has since been opened with the police.

Both DJ Fresh and Euphonik were employed by music radio station 94.7 owned by Primedia Broadcasting.

In a joint statement, DJs Fresh and Euphonik say, ” After extensive consultation, legal and otherwise, we have concluded that it is in our best interests to resume all of our public engagements,” adding “We look forward to our names being cleared.”

They go on to thank the broadcaster for the great opportunities and moments, but add that they have agreed to a release from Primedia due to the inability to find common ground.
