Police have retrieved two bodies on a smallholding in Erasmia on the Schurweberg road, near Vlakplaas West of Pretoria.
Police are not sure if more people are buried in this cave. This after they retrieved two bodies believed to be of two ZCC members. It’s not immediately clear how long the bodies had been in the cave.
The police now are looking for self-proclaimed prophet to help them with their investigation into the alleged murder of two ZCC members.
The decomposing bodies were found in the cave by the owner of the property, Avi Vanezis.
Police spokesperson, Captain Augistinah Selepe, confirmed that one of the bodies was wearing a cap of the Zion Christian Church.
Vanezis says they have been trying for four months to get the authorities to remove the “prophet” who was illegally living in the cave. She says the vagrant moved into the cave about four months ago, proclaiming to be a prophet.
“He was saying he was praying for Satan to kill all the people who was trying to move him and he said to the cops I don’t care how many times I am arrested I am going to come back because my ancestors said I must come here,” says Vanezis.
About three weeks ago two members of the ZCC church went to the cave to pray for the “prophet” in an effort to help him. They too disappeared.
Vanezis says their families came looking for them, and against her warnings went to the cave. She says the two men spoke to the prophet and he told them that there was no-one inside the cave, just him, water and a big snake.
Vanezis says this is nonsense, because cave is very dark and one would not be able to see anything without light. She says last week Wednesday the man were removed by the police but came back to the cave. They went to investigate when they didn’t see any smoke coming from the cave for a few days. Vanezis says her daughter and some of their personal discovered the bodies.
“We are petrified. He has been harassing us, threatening to slit our throats, and he won’t leave. For four months we’ve been complaining about this. We live in the property down in the valley so he sees our every move so if he hide, we can’t see. I mean he could be sitting here looking at all of us,” says Vanezis.
The police are investigating the matter and looking for the “Prophet”.
