African National Congress (ANC) National Chairperson Baleka Mbete has described the recent supper organised by President Jacob Zuma for all party’s presidential hopefuls as a very constructive platform that created a peaceful atmosphere among all of them.
Mbete was addressing the party’s two day KwaZulu-Natal General Council in Durban.
She also called on party members to refrain from singing negative songs that are against or heckling leaders contesting positions at the conference.
“I want to give you a message from what has now been called a last supper… comrades that was an evening that was so constructive, it was so healing. So comrades, we even said at that last supper that we want it known that we do not want songs that are negative about one another, not in our names will anybody disrupt our conference,” says Mbete.
