North West’s head of Special Commercial Crime Unite arrested for shoplifting

The National Prosecuting Authority in the North West says the regional Head of the Special Commercial Crime Unit, Jeanette Neveling has been arrested and charged for shoplifting.

Nevelling is the Head of the Special Commercial Crime Unit, as well as the deputy director of senior prosecutors in the province.

She was allegedly caught red-handed with grocery and clothing items at Woolworths at The Crossing Shopping complex in Mahikeng.

Nevelling is also prosecuting high-ranking officials cases in the North West, including the one of former North West Finance MEC Wendy Nelson.

She has been granted bail of R500 and is expected to appear again at the Molopo Magistrate’s Court in Mahikeng, on the 4th of March 2021.

The North West’s NPA spokesperson Henry Mamothane says they are studying the docket.
