The selectors had no real surprises in store when they penned down the names of the South African cricket team for next month’s Men’s T20 World Cup.

Temba Bavuma, who is recovering from a hand injury picked up in Sri Lanka recently, will captain a 15-man squad well-stocked in all departments.

With the tournament taking place in the United Arab Emirates and Oman, the two specialist spinners, Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi will play important roles. Quinton de Kock and David Miller are two of the more experienced players in the squad.

The Proteas are in Group One with defending champions the West Indies, England and Australia.

They open their campaign against Australia on the 23rd of October in Abu Dhabi.
