Moses Mabhida violence case postponed to August

The case of 11 soccer fans accused of public violence at the Moses Mabhida stadium in April, has been postponed.
Nine men and two women appeared at the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

Violence erupted at the iconic stadium after Kaizer Chiefs lost two nil to Free State Stars in a knock out competition.
Chaotic scenes were captured live on TV.

Fans damaged broadcast equipment and they were also seen burning parts of the stadium. Some were captured assaulting a security guard.
The court will use the video material showing some of the accused causing mayhem. All suspects are out on bail.
The matter is due back in court for a pre-trial on the 2nd of August.
