Men involved in Moses Mabhida violence to plead guilty

Three men arrested in connection with violence that broke out after at the Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium, a week ago, have told the Durban Magistrates Court that they will plead guilty.

Chaos broke out when a large number of people invaded the pitch when Kaizer Chiefs lost 2-nil to Free State Stars in the Nedbank Cup semi-final just more than a week ago.

The three men were arrested at the weekend. They are facing charges of public violence as well as contravening the Safety of Sports and Recreational Events Act.

All three were released on bail of R1 000 each. They will again appear in court on May 25, together with another suspect who was arrested earlier.
